Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week: Midnight shopper

From the Deep East Texas Crime Stoppers

LUFKIN, TEXAS (News Release) - All stores hope their merchandise flies off the shelves but none want it to happen after closing. Crime Stoppers has video of a burglar smashing their way into Target in Lufkin and stealing nearly two dozen high-end electronic devices. Crime Stoppers also has reward money available to encourage someone to provide an anonymous, case-solving tip.

The burglar appeared on Target's security video at midnight August 22. The hood of his or her jacket shielded his or her head and face and we can't tell if they are male or female, so we'll call them the criminal for now.

The criminal went to a loading dock door and watched for employees. When they were sure the store was unoccupied, they smashed the glass of a front door and ran to the electronics selection. The criminal was inside the store for only one minute but managed to steal an estimated $7,500 worth of iPads (Mini and Pro), iPods (Touch and Nano), Apple Watches, and Apple TVs.

Video of the burglary is posted at The criminal's face is not visible on video but someone will be able to identify them because they likely bragged about the crime and tried to sell the devices. The hooded jacket might be purple and white but the video quality is poor and the criminal moves too quickly to be certain what they were wearing.
