ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - An Angelina County commissioner has been cited and fined $250 for incorrectly filing campaign finance reports during his 2014 re-election bid.
According to an order released by the Texas Ethics Commission, they found there was credible evidence of violations.
The complaint alleged Commissioner Pct. 2 Kenneth Timmons did not timely file five campaign finance reports and did not cover the reporting period in five campaign finance reports.
Timmons held off the challenge from Republican David Stua with a 1,527 vote count to Stua's 862.
The agreed resolution states Timmons neither admits nor denies the commission's conclusions and he understands when he must file his reports. The commission then fined Timmons $250.
