NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin woman and Houston man are in the Nacogdoches County Jail after deputies reported catching them driving through the county with a large amount of meth Wednesday morning.

John Alvin Kennedy, 34, and Jenny Lee Myers, 34, are each charged with first-degree delivery of a controlled substance. They are each being held on a $50,000 bond.

According to arrest affidavits, deputies stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of FM 225 at 5:22 a.m. because they were driving left of center and then onto the unimproved shoulder of the road.

Kennedy and Myers appeared to be disoriented and had extremely rapid speech, according to the affidavit. While speaking to them, deputies say they learned they had a meth pipe and then used probable cause to search the vehicle.

Deputies located a black pouch which contained a clear plastic baggie containing a large amount of a crystal meth in the rear passenger area, along with scales.
