LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The sight of food trays being brought into law enforcement offices across Angelina County brought smiles to the faces of the officers on duty Thursday.
The Lufkin Association of Realtors spent their morning bringing lunch to officers around the county.
"We got together earlier this year and looked at how we could give back to the community," said Association President Amy Mitchell. "We immediately thought of the police officers, and then we thought, "Would they want a sit down meal?" but ultimately went with something they could grab and get out the door with if they needed to run to something."
The realtors did not ask for outside donations. The group bought all the food with their personal money. The group also wanted to make sure that others in the office also were appreciated.
"We wanted to make sure there was enough for everyone in the building," Mitchell said. "Not just the officers but those folks that are dispatch or things like that that also help us so much."
