NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - After an ongoing drug investigation, the Nacogdoches County Combined SWAT team executed a search warrant at a home on Seale Street, and a 33-year-old man was arrested on numerous felony and misdemeanor drug charges.
The law enforcement officers also found Xanax, Codeine, a small amount of marijuana, and meth residue in the home, according to a post on the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
Dernell Pleasant was arrested and charged with first-degree felony delivery of a controlled substance, second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance, Class A misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, and Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana. No bail amount has been set at this time.
According to a press release posted on the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, Pleasant was the target of an ongoing investigation into the distribution of drugs.
"The sheriff office has received information that Pleasant, who was also out on parole by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice had been selling narcotics from his residence on Seale Street," the NCSO Facebook page stated.
Investigators with the sheriff's office conducted an undercover sting operation and purchased methamphetamine from Pleasant on several different occasions during the investigation. The sheriff's office obtained an arrest warrant for Pleasant and a search warrant for his home on Sept. 1.
The Nacogdoches County Combined SWAT team conducted the search warrant on the home on Seale Street shortly before noon Tuesday.
Pleasant was taken into custody outside his residence without incident, and the house was secured. After the law enforcement officers searched the house, they found 19.6 grams of Xanax, 153 grams of Codeine, a small amount of marijuana, and meth residue. They also found drug paraphernalia in the residence.
"Pleasant is currently a registered sex offender that was still on parole and had on an ankle monitor," the NCSO Facebook post stated.
According to the sheriff's office Facebook post, a blue, or parole revocation, warrant is expected to be issued for Pleasant by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
