City Hall Becomes A Place For Prayer

East Texans gathered at Lufkin City Hall Thursday in honor of 'A Day of Prayer'.

Several community leaders prayed for several areas of our everyday life including local, state and national media, education, church, and family.

There's been a big debate over whether the government should have a role in religion.  Those who showed up Thursday say Lufkin is a praying town and that will never change.

Mayor Louis Bronaugh said, "A person who prays probably sets an example by doing so, certainly we will do that.  City council and city hall employees and the public has come together.  It's a great thing."

City Hall in Lufkin has been the place for 'A Day of Prayer' for several years now.
