SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A person who was involved in a one-vehicle wreck on FM 711 in San Augustine County early Wednesday may have died from a medical condition and not the crash, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to a press release, DPS troopers were dispatched out to the scene of a one-vehicle wreck on FM 711 near County Road 202 in San Augustine County at about 12:19 a.m. Wednesday.

During their investigation, the troopers determined that the 2011 Chevrolet pickup was heading northwest on FM 711 and drove across the southeast lane of traffic. The truck went into a field and came to rest after it struck a fence.

"The Chevrolet received minor damage in the crash," the press release stated.

Because the next of kin has not been notified yet, DPS officials are not releasing the person's name.

The wreck is still under investigation.
