ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - After an Angelina County Sheriff's Office deputy spotted a man driving a motorcycle in an erratic manner near the intersection of FM 842 and State Highway 103, the man was arrested for allegedly being in possession of a large amount of meth, marijuana, 29 pills, a syringe, and a set of brass knuckles.
Robert Randall Deaton Jr., 36, of Lufkin, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a first-degree felony manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance-penalty group 1 charge, a state-jail possession of marijuana charge, a Class A misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance less than 28 grams charge, and a Class A misdemeanor prohibited weapon charge. Collectively, his bail amount has been set at $54,500.
According to the Angelina County Sheriff's Office daily activity report, an ACSO deputy made a traffic stop on Deaton's motorcycle at about 10:09 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of FM 842 and SH 103. The deputy noticed Deaton driving erratically, and the report stated Deaton committed numerous traffic violations.
A search revealed 3.5 ounces of methamphetamine, more than 4 ounces of marijuana, 29 pills of a controlled substance, a syringe, material for packaging, and a set of brass knuckles.
Deaton was arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail.
