The bruised and battered Angelina College soccer teams are hoping the past few days off have helped enough to get both the Lady Roadrunners and Roadrunners a win this weekend.

Several players have suffered injuries, with some of those potentially season-ending. For a fledgling program still trying to find its footing in a tough district, losing any player at this point simply makes a tough task tougher.

The schedule rolls on, however, with the two teams traveling to Jacksonville College Friday evening. The Roadrunners face the Jaguars at 5 p.m., with the Lady Roadrunners and Lady Jaguars following at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, the Roadrunners will face the country's No. 1 team in Tyler College. AC's men last Friday nearly pulled off an upset at Laredo, riding Enrique Acevedo's goal and a 1-0 lead until the 80th minute, when the Palominos put together two scores in the final 10 minutes to take the 2-1 win.

AC will host the top-ranked Apaches at 5 p.m. at Jase Magers Field in Lufkin. Follow ACAthletics on Twitter for updates.
