Panthers Donate Blood

by Jessica Cervantez

It is called "Saving Lives in Pantherville," and that is exactly what Lufkin High School students did. They took time out to donate blood.

The mobile units were packed with students donating blood, and lots more students were signed up throughout the day. The sponsors goal is to get students to donate young.

Marcia Cox, the blood drive chair, said, "We hope it gets them into a life-long habit of donating blood. Each unit that is collected has a possibility of saving three lives, and Lufkin High School is currently the biggest school donor in our area."

The blood drive will also be held Tuesday.

Sponsors say they always get a lot of students who step up and donate, usually about a hundred units are donated, many of the students like receiving the free t-shirt.
