NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - On Wednesday's airing of Jeopardy!, SFA teacher Seth Wilson came away with $25,201 by taking an eighth win and adding it to a total of $191,701.
Wilson took on Harold Leff from New York and Erin Post from Iowa.
Wilson trailed Post after the first round, $6,600 to $5,600 but took the lead back in Double Jeopardy. Before the final round, Wilson led Post, $17,600 to $12,600, using a Daily Double to boost his score by $2,000.
"I don't know. It just happened to be a bunch of things that I knew," Wilson said Wednesday. "And usually once I know the first question in the category, my strategy is to stick with the category until I hit a wall, so it just happened to be luck of the draw that those were all things that were in my wheelhouse."
During Wednesday's show, Wilson excelled in the 'Busy Bodies" category, which dealt with fitness even though he said he rarely hits the gym.
For Final Jeopardy, the category was "Historic Homes."
The clue was "Also known as the 'House of His Majesty,' Fairfield House in England was the home of this African leader from 1936 to 1941.
Wilson correctly guessed the question as "Haile Selassie." Post got it wrong and Leff got it right. However, Leff did not have enough to wager to catch Wilson.
Wilson goes for a ninth win on Thursday's taping at 11 a.m. on KTRE.
