SABINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

An escaped inmate from Vernon Parish, Louisiana has been captured in East Texas Tuesday.

Gregory Comeaux, 28, was found in Sabine County, according to Sabine County Sheriff's Office Deputy Chief George Griffin.

He was found hiding in bedroom in a home in the 400 block of Mason Lane in Milam. Deputies say Melissa Lynn Campbell, 46, of Many, Louisiana, denied Comeaux was inside the house.

Comeaux did resist arrest at the time and Sabine County deputies were forced to tase Comeaux to subdue him.

Sabine County deputies were working on a tip that Comeaux got a ride into East Texas after he took off Tuesday morning from a work release program in Rosepine, Louisiana.

Both have been extradited back to Louisiana Tuesday night.

Campbell will face charges of criminal conspiracy in relation to Comeaux's escape. While Comeaux is facing a resisting arrest charge from Sabine County Sheriff's Office.
