TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Trinity man is in jail following an incident in which he is accused of shooting at two men and killing one of them Tuesday afternoon.
Arrest records show Laymond Billy Blanton, 74, is charged with first-degree murder and second-degree aggravated assault.
Sheriff Woody Wallace said the shooting happened Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. and that Blanton is accused of shooting at two men but that he missed striking one of them with a round.
Justice of the Peace Rod Blair said he pronounced Jacob Mack Feller, 34, dead at the scene.
Wallace said he could not release information at this time on Blanton's motive. He also said the sheriff's office is investigating along with the Texas Rangers.
