TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Trinity County man tells authorities he felt threaten by the two men he shot at Tuesday afternoon.

A preliminary investigation by the Texas Rangers and Trinity County Sheriff's Office reveals Laymond Billy Blanton, 74, was confronted by two men on motorcycles at his Harbor Point home.

The three men got into a verbal altercation. During that argument, Blanton fatally shot 34-year-old Jacob Mack Feller.

He also shot at Nathan Jewel Shelton, 35, but he was able to leave unharmed.

Texas Rangers took Blanton into custody Tuesday evening on charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
