ZAVALLA, TX (KTRE) -

Fire crews have put out a 10-acre wildfire in the Zavalla area.

Authorities have called off a voluntary evacuation, according to Chris Wade, the assistant fire chief of the Zavalla Volunteer Fire Department. Wade said the fire is out and it is safe for residents to return home.

Wade said the Texas A&M Forest Service dug a containment area around the burned area around Carter Drive, in case it re-sparks.
