LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Angelina College hosted approximately 500 Lufkin High School students today during their Gear Up program for potential students.
Students were broken up into groups and taken on tours of the campus as well as introduced to college students representing their interest of study.
Gear Up Coordinator Vickie Evans said this is a great first stepping stone for students as they look forward to high school graduation.
"There are a lot of barriers that get in the way of them going on and reaching the dreams that they have, and so today we're just trying to help them get through any of the barriers that they can so it's smooth sailing and just provide them all the support that we can so they have no excuses not to succeed." Evans said.
All the student that were present on Friday were high school seniors who are looking at Angelina College as their number one school of choice for college.
