LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Multiple government officials and law enforcement personnel took a dunk today in a tub of cool water all for a good cause.

The Family Crisis Center held their first ever 'Take a dunk for domestic violence' event outside of the Angelina County Courthouse. During the event local celebrities waited anxiously on the dunking platform as statistics were read to the crowd. After each reading those in attendance had the chance to dunk the person on the platform. Those that were dunked were Lufkin Police Officer Aaron Snead, Andy Adams, Zavalla Poilce Chief Stefani Wade, Lufkin City Councilmen Mark Hicks, Lufkin Police Officer Gerardo Salinas, Jamie West and District Judge Bob Inselmann.

The event also saw Crisis Center Director Heather Kartye and District Judge Paul White speak.
