DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) - A Woodville man escaped injury after flipping his log truck and spilling his load on US 59 in Diboll Wednesday morning.
As of 10:30 a.m., the northbound side of US 59 is down to one lane of traffic and FM 1818 going east at the intersection of 59 is blocked.
Diboll Police Officer Noe DeJesus said he had turned east on FM 1818 when he saw the truck veer into a median to avoid hitting vehicles stopped at the stoplight. Claude Broom, 62, of Woodville, was driving the rig and then hit a concrete culvert, causing it to flip over.
Broom was not injured but damaged several street signs and possibly a water hydrant.
DeJesus said Broom was cited for failure to control speed.
