WOODVILLE, TX (KTRE) - An East Texas law maker is catching some heat for defending a comment presidential candidate Donald Trump made about Hillary Clinton at the final presidential debate, according to CNN.
"Near the end of the debate Wednesday, Trump called Clinton 'such a nasty woman' while she was answering a question on Social Security and Medicare," a cnn.com story stated. "Trump's comment elicited a strong rebuke online, where the #nastywoman went viral."
According to the CNN story, U.S. Rep. Brian Babin, R-Woodville, appeared on the "Alan Colmes Show" Thursday night. During the show, Colmes asked Babin if he thought Trump's comment was appropriate.
"You know what, she's saying some nasty things," Babin said on the show.
The CNN story said that Colmes again asked Babin if he thought Trump's comment was appropriate.
At that point, Colmes responded, "Well, I'm a genteel Southerner, Alan."
When Colmes pressed him again, asking for yes or no answer, Babin responded, "No, I think sometimes a lady needs to be told when she's being nasty. I do."
The CNN story said that Babin added that he thinks Hillary Clinton has "got so much baggage."
"I think she's done some nasty things," Babin said.
Later in the interview, Colmes kept pressing the congressman, and Babin said he agreed with Trump's assessment that Clinton is a "nasty woman."
