POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Livingston preacher died from injuries he suffered when he drove into the back of a school bus Wednesday afternoon in Polk County.

Jeffrey Sherry, 57, of Livingston, died at a Livingston hospital.

According to the DPS report, Jennifer Watson, 45, of Onalaska, was driving north on FM 350. She had stopped to drop off a child and began driving again when she was struck from behind by a 2010 Ford Transit, driven by Sherry.

Sherry was transported to CHI St. Luke's Livingston Memorial where he passed away a short time later.

Watson and one child passenger were not injured.

Sherry was the pastor for Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Livingston.

The church released a statement on its Facebook page:

"Thank you for your prayers during this difficult time. We will be posting arrangements later today as soon as they are finalized. The family asks that you respect their privacy during the next day or so. You will all be invited to come to the viewing and funeral. Again thank you for your prayers and support."

Livingston ISD also released a statement.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Brother Sherry was a respected community member, a pastor, and leader in Christ and we grieve with the family and our community."

Sherry's memorial service will be in Houston, time and date are to be announced.
