ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

After a motorcycle wreck occurred near the Shirley Creek Marina on Sam Rayburn Lake Friday morning, traffic was blocked temporarily, so a medical helicopter could airlift a patient to a hospital for treatment.

Rhonda Oaks, a spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Transportation, said State Highway 103 East is now clear, and traffic is flowing again.

According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, DPS troopers from Nacogdoches County were dispatched out to a motorcycle wreck on FM 226 at about 9 a.m. Friday. The crash occurred about two-and-a-half miles south of State Highway 103.

The preliminary crash report shows that Clayton Barlow, 20, of Garrison, was riding a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on FM 226 when he struck a deer. Barlow, who wasn't wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was airlifted to a Tyler hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
