LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A head-on collision at the intersection of the Lufkin loop and Raguet Drive sent one person to the hospital late Friday night.
Officer Zack Klein with the Lufkin Police Department said the wreck occurred around 10:50 p.m. Friday. A Mitsubishi car was turning west onto State Highway 103 when it collided head on with a Scion that was traveling south on John Redditt Drive.
The Scion ran off the road and hit a Texas Department of Transportation generator, shutting off the traffic lights at the intersection of the loop and Raguet Drive (State Highway 103).
One person was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of possible injuries.
At this time, Police are unsure which driver ran the stop light at the intersection.
Police officers at the scene said temporary stop signs are going to be placed at the intersection because the traffic lights are still out. Motorists are urged to use caution near the intersection of the loop and Raguet Drive until the traffic lights are fixed.
