LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Eleven days, that's all Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have to convince the American voters to cast their ballot for them.
And in a race that has rocked campaigns on both sides; the newest development has the Clinton campaign doing more damage control over new emails.
There are some East Texans who believe that this new investigation could ultimately hurt Clinton in the polls including GOP Party chair for Angelina county Donald Baum.
"I think it's going to be very detrimental to Hillary's campaign. Donald Trump has already closed ten points off the gap between them. He was twelve points down, and now he's only two points down." Baum said.
But Angelina Democratic Party chair Shirley Layton said she's not worried.
"This is just like WikiLeaks. There's no big revelation that is going to do anything to damage her campaign." Layton said.
Hillary addressed the situation and the FBI after it was made public on Friday.
"I thought it showed integrity on her part, honesty and no fear. I believe that she is totally comfortable with the FBI releasing all of the information so that we can put this behind us once again." Layton said.
At the moment there have been no further details released regarding the emails.
"There really seems to be a lot of nothing at this point. What we would like to see and what Hillary has called for is that if the FBI has more information, go ahead and put it out there and let the world see it." Layton said.
Both parties say something like is this is unprecedented so close to the election.
