LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - An East Texas mom has become an online sensation after posting a Facebook video of her venting about the struggles of Red Ribbon week.

The Lufkin mother of two's Red Ribbon Week rant has been viewed more than 13 million times.

"It feels silly and fun," viral sensation, Melissa Radke said. "I'm not holding on to the fame or anything like that, I'm having a really great time with it."

She created her Facebook page about a year ago and recently started posting videos after her husband advised her to.

"I figured video is kind of where it's at," Radke said. "People won't always read what you have to say, but they'll always watch."

Radke typically post about parenting, but her most recent video pulled on the heart strings of mothers everywhere.

"When this red ribbon week flyer comes home I'm like, we do not have time as mom's to do this," Radke said. "I have to make breakfast and pack lunches. I cannot also dress you in camo."

Radke said the idea of creating a Red Ribbon Week rant just came to her one day.

"I told David to get a video of me talking about red ribbon week," Radke said. "I thought it'll just be silly and nobody will even watch it."

Since the video, Radke has gained more than 100,000 Facebook likes. Radke said the gain of followers will give her a bigger platform to inspire.

"I teach bible studies around town, I believe in empowering women to know who they are in Christ, and I thank you Lord that I have this platform to do that because I didn't have before," Radke said.
