A seven point win over Jacksonville is all Nacogdoches needs in order to make the playoffs. That's a lot easier said than done.
It's definitely a milestone the Dragons can reach, as long as they can contain Jacksonville’s quarterback Cameron High.
The senior has almost single handedly carried the Indians team this year. He's shifty on his feet and has 1,359 yards and 14 touchdowns rushing, and 707 yards and nine touchdowns passing. He's responsible for 65% of Jacksonville’s 3,181 total yards this year.
High is definitely the guy the Dragons will be honing in on come Friday.
“Their quarterback and running back are very good and fast. We just have to respect them as an athlete. If we just do what we're told, we have a game plan and we'll be able to stop him,” said linebacker Derrick Wright.
“He's got great escapability. He does a great job with taking a bad play and turning it into a good play. He’s done that all year and he did that last year too. He’s back and it's just a matter of us staying where we're supposed to be and doing what we need to do,” said Nacogdoches head coach Bobby Reyes.
If Nacogdoches doesn’t win by seven points, but still manage to win the game, they need Lindale to beat Whitehouse in order to make the playoffs.
Nacogdoches will be hosting this contest against Jacksonville Friday night starting at 7:30 p.m. It will also be the Dragon’s senior night.
