NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department arrested two Memphis, Tennessee men on felony drug charges Wednesday after a traffic stop resulted in the discovery of more than seven pounds of marijuana.
Royal Geovontay Bell, 27, and Christopher Michael Boyd, 25, are both still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail. Each man was charged with third-degree felony possession of marijuana between five and 50 pounds, and no bail amounts have been set yet.
According to a press release from the Nacogdoches Police Department, the two men's vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation Wednesday. Both men allegedly had conflicting travel information.
After a K-9 officer alerted on the suspects' vehicle, the NPD officers searched the it and found more than seven pounds of marijuana.
The men were arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail.
