LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Museum of East Texas, near downtown Lufkin, is getting merrier this month as it prepares for it's annual Festival of Trees fundraiser.
The Museum is transformed into a winter wonderland with a large variety of trees decorated in every way imaginable.
The KTRE team worked to decorate the station's tree decorated with KTRE toy trucks, KTRE Coca-Cola cans and the station's colors on Friday.
Each tree is sponsored by a local individual or corporation with some of the themes include "Cat in the Hat," casinos, and education.
The Festival of Trees runs November 21, 2016 – January 3, 2017 and is free for the community.
The Festival of Trees is the Museum Guild's annual fundraiser and those who choose to become sponsors help provide scholarships for Art Camp, technology for the Museum, and special gifts to the Museum of East Texas throughout the year.
Last year's grand display featured over one hundred thirty-four trees ranging in size from three feet to twelve feet tall.
