DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) - A routine traffic stop by Diboll Police revealed a large amount of cash and drugs.

According to Diboll Police Sgt. Brandan Lovell, a Diboll officer pulled over two men from Illinois for a routine traffic stop. After questioning the men, Lovell said Officer Lazaro Robles felt he had reason to search the vehicle.

Lovell said the two men refused and DPS K9 Trooper Travis Richnow was called in for assistance.  Lovell stated K9 Gordon alerted multiple times on the vehicle, allowing officers to legally search the car.

Lovell said officer Robles and Trooper Richnow were able to locate a misdemeanor amount of drugs as well as over $17,600.

Lovell said one man was being released but Montuelle Wright Jr, 25 from East St.Louis, Illinois is being taken to the Angelina County Jail. Charges are pending right now.
