CORRIGAN, TX (KTRE) -

An East Texas 7-year-old is showing us the true meaning of giving.

“It makes me feel really good,” 7- year- old, Bella Smith said.

Bella is a free spirited 7-year-old who loves to go above and beyond the norm.

“Oh yeah, that’s her personality,” Bella’s mother, Melissa Smith said. “She takes charge. I can tell that she’s going to be a good boss one day.”

After having a foster sister for two years Bella learned things about kids living in the system.

“She told me when she was in foster care she only had one pair of clothes, and one dress,” Bella said.

So Bella decided to take action. With the help of her mom she created the Seats and Feets Foundation.

“I told her that I wanted to do this drive because I know my sister was in there and I wanted to help other people,” Bella said.

“There’s a huge need for foster parents,” Melissa said. “You get different kind of kids, and they all need love and attention.”

With the support of her community, Bella has been collecting diapers, clothing, and anything a child in the foster system could use.

“I want them to have a lot of stuff like we do,” Bella said.

The help from others makes her thankful.

“It makes me feel really good because they want to do something big like I do,” Bella said referring to people who have helped her with donations.

“I was very proud of her,” Melissa said. “She’s got a really big heart and she’s always wanted to do something to help others.”

“To be able to help foster kids like, like the grownups do makes me happy,” Bella said.

If you want to help out Bella and the Seats and Feets Foundation they'll be hosting donation events all week.
