HEMPHILL, TX (KTRE) - A Sabine County constable accused of shooting his girlfriend in the hand has resigned office.
The county judge's office confirmed Jerry Dan Webb, 66, of Bronson, turned in his resignation at Monday's commissioner court meeting. The commissioners accepted the resignation unanimously.
Webb faces four criminal charges after authorities say he broke into a home on Longleaf Street in Pineland and fired a shot from a shotgun into a wall. Some of the shot hit Lori Williams in the hand.
Webb faces life in prison on the charges and has posted a $385,000 bail.
