Douglass woman dies in house fire

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A woman has died following a fire on County Road 845 Monday morning.

According to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office's daily activity report, the fire was in the 600 block of County Road 845 at 5:03 a.m.

Justice of the Peace Kerry Don Williamson pronounced Bea Ellen Rich, 75, dead at 6:30 a.m.

Douglass Volunteer Fire Chief Phil Holland said the single-story wood-framed house was fully engulfed by the time firefighters arrived.

The woman was the only person in the home at the time of the fire, Holland said.
