LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - It has been four years, but a labor of love has been finished and on demand: the documentary on Lufkin Head Coach John Outlaw.
In 2011, Coach Outlaw died suddenly and unexpectedly and assistant coach Todd Quick stepped up to head coach.
In "Outlaw: Life, Death and Texas Football," filmmaker Matt Skinner focused on Outlaw's legacy, the rise of Coach Quick and the Panthers' new energy during the 2011-2012 football season.
Skinner moved to Lufkin to film the movie that took about for years to complete.
"I started this film with one goal in mind and that was to tell John Outlaw's story, but I realized through this journey, it has become so much more," Skinner wrote on Facebook Tuesday.
"Outlaw: Life, Death and Texas Football" can be found on any steaming device starting November 22nd.
