LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - It's been quite the journey for this two-and-half year-old Border Collie named Misty.
"We actually picked her up in the field," said Aaron Ramsey, the director at Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter. "We didn't want her to get hurt or for anything to happen to her."
Attempts were made to find her family. She was scanned for a microchip but nothing came up.
She now calls the Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter home, but is looking for a family to take her in.
Misty is a bit shy at first, but quickly warms up to you.
"She might take a little bit of time for her personality to come out, but she has a very sweet personality," Ramsey said. "She is very loving."
This border collie loves to pretend she's a hunter. She loves to sniff around and find toys and other fun things in the yard.
"With this type of breed, she loves to run. She has that herding mentality," Ramsey said. "So she would need a place to go and get plenty of exercise and room to run."
She's updated on her shots but will need to get fixed. Any family looking for a quiet lap dog would be perfect for Misty.
