NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office have arrested a Nacogdoches man accused of sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl in November.
Marty Blake Rich, 26, is charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault of a child.
According to an arrest affidavit, Nacogdoches police were investigating the sexual assault of one child when that child's mother told police about sexual abuse of another child.
The mother of the second child said she confronted Rich about the allegation and said Rich told her he was intoxicated on that night and did not remember anything but offered to apologize.
A sexual assault nurse exam at Harold's House showed injuries consistent with sexual abuse, according to the affidavit.
A detective spoke with Rich and reported he denied any wrongdoing, but said he was at the home of the girl that night and said he passed out on the couch. He said when he woke up, he found himself in the room that belonged to the child. He admitted he offered to apologize.
The detective obtained an arrest warrant for Rich on Friday and he was arrested the same day.
