HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Houston County Sheriff's Office arrested a couple in connection to allegations that they went to a man's house on County Road 4530 on Nov. 30, tied him up, and carried him into the woods behind his travel trailer.
Lazarus Abesol Crockett, 25, and Charity Cecil, 18, both of Crockett, were arrested, and they were both charged with felony aggravated kidnapping.
According to the arrest affidavit East Texas news obtained Monday, an HCSO deputy was dispatched out to the 300 block of CR 4530 on Nov. 30 in reference to a kidnapping that had occurred eight days earlier.
The complainant told the deputy that Crockett and another man came into his travel trailer at 3 or 4 a.m., shined a light on his face, and ordered him on the floor, the affidavit stated. After the victim complied, Crockett and the other man tied him up and carried him into the woods behind his trailer.
The alleged victim told the deputy that Cecil, Crockett's girlfriend, held the light for the two men as they carried him into the woods. One of the men told the victim that they were going to get a knife and cut him up, so no one would find him, the affidavit stated.
According to the affidavit, the three suspects left the victim in the woods for about 30 minutes. At that point, the three suspects allegedly returned, untied him, and started laughing and acting like they were joking.
The victim told the HCSO deputy that the three suspects told him they thought he was "snitching" and said if he ever did it again, they would kill him, the affidavit stated.
The victim told the deputy that he took so long reporting the crime because the suspects told him that if he reported the crime, they would kill him. He also told the deputy that the incident occurred because he told the owner of the land he was staying on that the two men had possibly left a stolen vehicle on his property, and the owner called one of the men and confronted him about it, the affidavit stated.
