LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Small orange stickers warning of selling alcohol to minors are making their way to stores in Lufkin and across Angelina County.

The Coalition's Drug Free All Stars kicked of the annual sticker shock campaign Monday morning at the Brookshire's on Chestnut. The partnership is between the Coalition, youth, Polk's Big's, concerned parents, community members prevention specialists and law enforcement. All Star members feel the problem of under age drinking can be traced back to adults.

"They go out and buy this alcohol and don't really see it as a big deal, but it is," said Lufkin High School student McKenzie Crager. "They are the main reason that all these accidents are happening, and I just think we need to raise awareness that there are consequences for their actions."

The goals of the project is to educate potential furnishers, raise public awareness about underage drinking and strengthen the deterrent effect of the law against providing alcohol to minors.
