NACOGDOCHES, Texas (Press Release)– The Ladyjacks are now on a four game win streak after taking down UTA in Arlington last Sunday. Senior Taylor Ross once again led the Ladyjacks to a win against the Mavericks. The senior guard scored a season high 26 points and five assists on the afternoon. Her performance this past game week earned her the honors as the Southland Conference Player of the Week and the College Sport Madness Player of the Week.

The next closest SFA scorer would be senior Brentney Branch with eight points, six of those off triples. The rebounds column was dominated by sophomore Kennedy Harris, who had eight on the night. The nail-biting game between UTA and SFA was tied up seven different times throughout the course of the game before Ross’s accuracy at the line put the Ladyjacks up by five in the final 11 seconds of the game.

After the third week of play, the Ladyjacks are currently ranked second in the nation for forced turnovers (26.43) and ranked fourth in the nation for steals per game (13.9). In Southland conference rankings, they are third in the conference in scoring offense for averaging 72.3 points per game. SFA holds the second place spot for field goal percentage (.410), and they are also ranked third for scoring defense (62.1) and three-point field goal percentage (.348).

The all-time series between the two teams is heavily weighted on the Louisiana Tech side. The series is 8-26 with La Tech in the lead. The series started back in 1977-78, and the teams have met 34 times since then. On the road against the Lady Techsters, SFA is 1-12, with the one 77-74 road win by the Ladyjacks in the 1990-91 season.

The Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters are coming off a 66-56 win over SLC opponent McNeese State. The Lady Techsters had three players in double digit points, and were led by center Reauna Cleaver, who claimed 20 points and seven rebounds.

After the road trip to Ruston, the Ladyjacks will start their four game home series with a match up against the University of Montana. The Griz will come to town on Saturday, Dec. 10th for a 5:00 p.m. CT tipoff. The game will be live streamed on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.
