When the Nine Flags Christmas Parade in Nacogdoches was canceled due to Saturday's threatening weather organizers came up with the idea of a Non-Parade "Parade."

Here's how it will work.

"Everybody is going to be able to bring their floats down starting at two o'clock to Festival Park," said Maury Littleton, the parade chair. "We're going to line them up around the park. You will be able to walk and see each float. We have our walking groups have been all invited to perform. It will go from 4 to 6 o'clock and fireworks will shoot between 6 and 6:15."

The parade entries and floats will be parked around Festival Plaza for participants to view. While people are admiring the floats, they can enjoy performances on the Festival Plaza stage.

"If you are interested in attending with your "parade" entry, or performing on the Festival Plaza stage, please e-mail as soon as possible," a press release stated.
