Law enforcement searching for escaped inmate from Galveston County

MADISONVILLE, TX (KTRE) -

Law enforcement officers in Deep East Texas are searching for an escaped inmate this morning.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office posted to Facebook early Tuesday morning about a search for escaped inmate Dominic Potter from Galveston County.

Police are searching an area near Bucee's in Madisonville, which is about 30 minutes outside of Crockett.

Potter is described as a white male about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue and white striped shirt. 

Anyone seen with that description should notify police.

As of 5 p.m., TDCJ tracking dogs and Madison and Galveston County sheriff's office units have returned to service. TDCJ State Police and Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force will continue to investigate.
