CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) -

Crockett Police are actively looking for two suspects that robbed the Brookshire Brothers at gun point.

According to a press release, police were called out to the store on north Fourth Street around 8 p.m. Monday night.

"The suspects were in the store for a short time casing the store out before approaching the cashier and holding her at gun point," Lt. Clayton Smith said. "The suspects escorted the cashier to the office where another employee noticed that the suspects were holding a gun to her head. At that time the office staff opened the door and allowed the suspects inside the office. Once inside the suspects ordered the two staff members to the floor at gunpoint while making threats to kill them. Once all the money was gathered into a bag the suspects then walked out of the front of the store headed toward third street."

Smith states the exact amount of cash taken is not known but he did say that it is believed to be a substantial amount.

"The suspects are believed to be Hispanic males or light complected African Americans small to medium build," Smith said. "These suspects should be considered armed and dangerous."

Crockett Chief David Cross said the robbery was a scary situation.

"One of [the clerks] was shook up real bad which is understandable," Cross said. "The other did a little better. Money can be replaced. The lives are the most important thing. We try to teach them to cooperate, let them get the money and get out of there and we'll pick it up from there."

Cross said the department has been busy all day Tuesday interviewing people and looking into various leads. Many of the leads center around the shirt one of the suspects is wearing. It is a black Tupac shirt.

"If it is something specific in this case like that shirt then we would ask anybody that knows someone that wears a shirt like that to call us," Cross said.

Anyone with any information on the identities of the suspects can call the Crockett Police Department at 936-544-2021 or Crimestoppers at 936-545-TIPS. Smith confirmed that Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward.
