Wells welcomes Brookshire Brothers to town

WELLS, TX (KTRE) - The small town of Wells now has a new business in town.

With the cut of a ribbon, customers were welcomed inside of the new Brookshire Brothers Express to the smell of freshly fried chicken and sweet pastries. The store is part of a new effort to build express stores in smaller communities. The store will employee 33 people and is working on plans to work on programs with Wells ISD.

According to a press release, two additional Express stores will open by early 2017.  The company believes in super serving its customers and its communities with quality goods, great values and the extra bonus of shopping with someone you know. The store was built in Wells after several years of planning.

"We had an out pouring from the community for the need to open a store," District Director Luke Gustafason said. "It has been several years that the community has reached out to us, wanting us to come serve the community. Due to that outreach and that out pouring is why we are here."

The company also gave back to the Wells community today, making donations to the public library and the volunteer fire department.
