NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches ISD school board had no decision on the vacant superintendent position that has been open for 7 months.
The topic was on the agenda Thursday night. The board was to consider candidates for the vacancy and name of lone finalist.
The members of the board listened to a 25 minute long discussion on their options from their legal counsel. After that talk, the board went into executive session for another 20 minutes.
Around 5:55 p.m. Thursday, the members came out executive session and had no decision on the NISD superintendent position.
Interim Superintendent Sandra Dowdy was in the special meeting Thursday for the first half before walking back in as the board finished their executive session.
The school district has been without a superintendent for 7 months.
Back in June, the Nacogdoches ISD board accepted the resignation of Superintendent Fred Hayes. Parents and staff had been critical of Hayes' leadership in recent months.
