TRINITY, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Trinity Police Department arrested three men Wednesday in connection to allegations that they worked together to rob a man at gunpoint.
Gujuan Freeman, 19, Corddiro Morning, 21, and Monte Robinson, 22, were all arrested and charged with second-degree felony robbery.
According to the arrest warrant for one of the men, a Trinity PD officer was dispatched out to a home in the 100 block of Aspen Street at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday to check out a possible shooting. When the officer spoke to the victim, he told him the suspects' names and said they could possibly be found at a trailer park in the 100 block of Parker Street.
The Trinity PD officer went to the trailer park, and took four men in for questioning at the police department. During the questioning, several of the suspects told police that Freeman used at a residence in the 100 block of Ida Mae to steal from the victim, the warrant stated.
One of the suspects also said that Freeman fired several shots during the robbery, the warrant stated. Three of the suspects allegedly said that Freeman was the one who committed the robbery.
The warrant also stated that the Trinity PD officer found and seized "an automatic .22-caliber" gun along with a "hundred-round ammunition drum" from the house on Parker Street after he got permission to do the search from the resident. The gun, which was allegedly used in the robbery, was found hidden under articles of clothing near Freeman, the warrant stated.
During the course of the investigation, the Trinity PD officer learned that Morning and Robinson assisted with the robbery by serving as lookouts, the affidavit stated. Freeman allegedly took both men to and from the home in the 100 block of Ida Mae.
Morning also admitted to distracting the victim, so that Freeman could approach the man while armed with the gun that was found, the affidavit stated.
