NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The first-ever San Augustine County Master Gardeners will have to protect their plants from approaching freezing temperatures.
Earlier this week, the nine gardeners were in the warmth of the San Augustine County Courthouse, so they could be recognized for their hard work. There was book work in the classroom for certification. They also do a lot in the field.
"We've had a lot of projects - the outdoor classroom at the elementary school, the chamber of commerce building and we're going to be working with a lot of schools on their outdoor classroom starting in January for the Learn, Grow, Eat program," said Mike Malone, the president of the San Augustine Master Gardeners.
