LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - North Lufkin children were wide eyed with smiles from ear to ear when they heard the deep familiar voice of Santa enter the gym of JD's Center of Hope.
Santa was joined by Lufkin police officers at the special holiday party. The party was put together by Marco's Pizza, Brookshire Brothers, and the Lufkin Rotary Club. Santa made sure the children did not go home empty-handed. Santa brought footballs for the children and candy canes. He also took time to take pictures with each child.
"The kids sang with Santa today," he said. "The kids took pictures with Santa today, and Santa found out exactly what each and every kid wants for Christmas. They're all on the good list this year. Every kid in here made the good list."
The part wrapped up several days of Santa helping the department. On Monday, Santa delivered toys with officers to 12 families in need in the Lufkin community. Santa said despite coming to Lufkin early, he would return with his reindeer in the early morning hours on December 25.
