LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Milo is the perfect dog looking for her perfect home in time for Christmas.

Animal Shelter Director Aaron Ramsey said her unique coat and small size is what sets her apart.

"She is about 2 years old and we think she is a Jack Russel and Boston terrier mix," Ramsey said.

Milo does not need a lot to keep her busy - a few chew toys to fetch and some yummy doggie treats will go a long way in stealing this girl's heart.

Milo's size makes her the perfect travel companion or lap dog. She basically works in any environment you have.

"She is very playful," Ramsey said. "She likes to play. She will run after toys and things like that."

As much as Ramsey and his staff enjoy her company they really want her in a home by Christmas.

If adopted by the end of the business day on Friday, Milo's adoption fee is waived. It is part of the Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter's Home for the Holiday campaign. All shelter animals will have all their adoption fees waived. In return, the shelter is asking for a donation to their vet fund.

"We have a lot of animals that come into the shelter, and we want them to go to a good home," Ramsey said. "You know it is Christmas time, and we like to see people come in and find homes for these animals."
