LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Lufkin Police Department arrested a 36-year-old woman early Friday morning in connection to allegations that she went to another woman's hotel looking for "her man," got into an argument, and then assaulted the victim with a metal object.
Jamie Felecia Lathan, of Lufkin, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a second-degree felony aggravated assault charge and a Class C misdemeanor public intoxication charge. Although there is a $500 bail amount on the misdemeanor charge, no bail amount has been set for the felony.
According to the Lufkin Police Department's daily activity report, Lathan went to a hotel in the 4300 block of South First Street at about 1:03 a.m. Friday morning.
"[The] victim reported that a woman she knows only by a fist name came to the victim's hotel room demanding entry to find her man," the report stated.
The two women got into an argument, and then Lathan allegedly pulled a metal object from her pocket and used it to assault the victim, who suffered cuts to her head, shoulder, and neck.
Lathan was arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail.
