Students Get Close To God At Summer Camp

More than 2,000 youngsters from all around Texas are in Nacogdoches this week. They're here reinforce their faith in God. They're attending the Christian 'Student Life Camp'. For one week they drop the game boys and pick up their Bibles.

The week is filled with Bible discussions. Highlights include a straight talking inspirational speaker and live Christian rock. Youth leader Jeff Owens said, "I think today's kids are looking for something besides what the world is trying to offer. They get thrown so many things to distract them and I think they realize that's not what it's all about. I think they're starting to understand."

Campers say they like studying the Bible with their peers. They also enjoy the games and swimming like you see at traditional summer camps.
