NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches grand jury has indicted an Oklahoma man in connection to a home invasion robbery that occurred at a home on Rigby Road back in early August after someone cut the power to the house.
The grand jury indicted Walter Earl Brazille Jr., 37, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on a first-degree felony aggravated robbery charge and a third-degree felony unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon charge. Jail records show that he has also be charged with a Class B misdemeanor evading arrest charge. Collectively, his bail amount has been set at $66,500.
According to Sheriff Jason Bridges, Brazille went to a home on Rigby Road around 6 a.m. Saturday and cut the power off to the house. When the owner opened the door to see what happened, Brazille, who had a gun, forced his way into the home, Bridges said. He then started pointing his gun toward the woman and her boyfriend and demanded to know where the money was.
Bridges said the boyfriend managed to get out of the house and started running across the yard toward a neighbor's house. Brazille chased after him and shot at him, then went back into the home and started going through the house.
Dispatch received a 911 call and deputies were at the home within a matter of minutes, Bridges said, and were able to arrest Brazille after a short foot chase.
Deputies were able to get the woman's purse from Brazille, as well as a .380-caliber handgun that was reported stolen out of San Augustine County.
