LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

An arrest affidavit reveals an Angelina County jailer arrested Wednesday on a charge of official oppression is accused of grabbing the testicles of an inmate earlier this month.

Roger Dale Grimes, 59, of Lufkin, is charged with Misdemeanor A official oppression.

According to the affidavit, which was released on Thursday, a Texas Ranger investigated the case after an inmate filed a grievance against Grimes.

The affidavit states the inmate was performing trusty duties inside the jail and had made a joke to Grimes, who was walking down a hallway inside the jail, insinuating the inmate offered to do Grimes' job for him. The inmate said Grimes turned around and grabbed the inmate by the testicles and squeezed them.

The inmate told the Ranger that he felt Grimes had molested him, and it caused him to become light-headed and lose his breath, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit states the Ranger reviewed jail video, which was consistent with what the inmate said had happened.

Grimes admitted to the crime, according to the affidavit, saying "I don't know why I did that, it was just horseplay."

More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
